Dynamic line rating for power lines
WebPower Shutoff (PSPS) program, which de-energizes transmission lines that run through wildfire-prone regions. In order to reduce the amount of load shedding required during PSPS events, this pa-per explores the use of dynamic line ratings (DLR) to manage the current flows on lines that pose a high risk of igniting wildfires. WebDynamic Line Rating, or DLR, is a transmission line’s actual real-time or forecast power carrying capacity. It is based on the conductor’s operating temperature using real-time line behavior data and weather conditions. Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) is the natural and logical extension of the seasonal and ambient adjusted ratings trend.
