According to rule 72 of The Highway Code, you should ride in the middle of the road when: on quiet roads or streets – if a faster vehicle comes up behind you, move to the left to enable them to overtake, if you can do so safely WebOn a road bike you can go for an entire day and feel (relatively) fine afterwards. A decent ride on a MTB and fat bikes for me is around 30-40 km. With a road bike it's 60-70 km. Next summer I will set out with a recumbent bike (AZUB MAX 700 Custom) - that is a tier above regular road cycling.
